Buzzards Bay Village Association Announces New Officers and Directors

The Buzzards Bay Vitalization Association (BBVA) has announced the election of officer and directors for the 2008-2009 business year.

Jeffrey Luce of NSTAR continues to serve the organization as Chairman of the Board. Rita Pacheco of the Bridgemoor Restaurant and Inn is the new Vice-Chair replacing Admiral Richard Gurnon, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, who did not seek re-election. Newcomer to the BBVA leadership is Ron Matheson, a retired business executive, assuming the role of Secretary/Clerk of the corporation. David Dunn of the C. H. Dunn Insurance Agency retains his position of Treasurer.

New directors include: Donna Sprague, Owner of Lilly-Belle Florals & Treasure Chest; Hon. Judith Conron, member of the Bourne Board of Selectmen and Roland J. Dupont, former Bourne Selectmen and current President of Canal Projects Management.

Reelected were John Harding President of Harding Realty; Elizabeth Dean, Assistant Vice President, Sovereign Bank; David Willard, Vice-President Cape Cod Five Bank; Katherine Zagzebski, President, National Marine Life Center; William Locke, Cataumet Civic Associates; James Ballantyne, Owner, Sailworld, Cape Cod and ex officio, Bourne Town Administrator Thomas Guerino.

All elected were for one year terms. The BBVA executive committee is composed of the officers and immediate past chairman.

Tom Moccia continues as President and Chief Executive Officer.
